MICHAEL MANASAR DENTISTRY
We were recently contacted by Michael Manasar to produce a short promotional video about his dental practice in Wappingers Falls, New York. First, we spoke over the phone to get an in-depth understanding of what Michael wanted. Michael’s website designer and marketing director also gave their valuable input. Following all of this creative brainstorming, the plan was to interview Michael at his dental practice, and film a re-enactment of a client coming in for a teeth cleaning. Once we had a full grasp on what was wanted, I sent Michael a list of questions about his practice. Here is an example of a few of the questions:
What is your name and what do you do? Tell us a little bit about what you do for a living? How do you spend your free time? What makes you passionate about your job? What is a typical day like in the office?
Michael briefly answered the questions via email. We scheduled the shoot for a day a few weeks from then. I also suggested having Michael’s friend come to the office on the day of shooting - to act as a patient.
Day of the shoot:
We arrived at Michael Manasar Dentistry (crew of two people) and set up for the interview. We used the questions & answers as a guideline for the interview, so Michael didn’t have to think about the answers. Instead, he could relax and focus on his delivery. After interviewing Michael for about thirty minutes, we switched gears and began shooting the re-enactments. Michael asked his friend who used to be a receptionist at his office to act as a patient. We filmed a re-enactment of a typical visit at your favorite dentist. Michael has a natural gift for making his patients feel comfortable. Michael and his friend did a wonderful job portraying a relaxing mood anybody would want to experience when visiting a dentist.
Once we had all the footage we needed, we photographed Michael and his team and the office space. The entire video shoot / photography session took no longer than five hours.
Editing:
Once we had all the footage, we began the editing process. We usually share the rough cut with our clients, so we can shape the final video together into perfection. It is extremely important to create a video everybody is happy with. Typically, we do only a few small edits. This time, Michael and his team were so thrilled with the video right away, and no further changes were needed.
Making videos that everybody is happy with is what our business is about. Are you just becoming curious about what River Story Media could create for you? Perhaps you have a meticulously planned out idea already. Either way, we’re always happy to talk about any project!
